There are five types of keys present in our keyboard:-

  • Alphabetical key
  • Numeric key
  • Function key
  • Cursor control key
  • Special key
  • Alphabetically key:-

There are 26 alphabets present on the keyboard. Those are A to Z.

  • Numeric key:-

There are 10 search numbers from 0 to 9 present in our keyboard. In keyboard there are two set of numeric keys.

  • Function key:-

There are 12 function keys are present on the keyboard, to special package of language, that is F1 to F12.

  • Cursor control key:-

There are defined by the arrow key used to move the cursor to indicate by the cursor. Up, Down, Left, Right.

  • Special key:-

These keys are used for a special function.

For example:- Return or Esc key, Shift key, Space bar key, Enter key, Tab key, Ctrl, Alt, Back space key, Caps lock, Num lock etc.

Enter key:-

It is most important key present on the keyboard. It is use to space between two lines and also creates a new line and used to entering, enter in the command.

Space bar key:-

It is located as a largest key present on the keyboard and used to space between two words or used to enter a space at the cursor location.

Shift key:-

Shift key used to enter capital latter or special characters define above the numbers key.

Ctrl key:-

Ctrl key used to connect to other keys and provide additional function and provide shortcut function.

Alt key:-

It is used like Ctrl key.

Tab key:-

It is used to move the cursor to the next tab position defined by the user, it also used to entry new cells.

Back space key:-

It is used to move the cursor a position to left and also delete the current in position.

Caps lock:-

It is used for capital letter lock function, when on it locks the keypad for capital letter input.

Num lock:-

It is used for number lock function, when on it, inputs numbers when we press the numbers in the numbering keypad.

Delete:-

It is used to delete character at cursor location and it also used to delete files and folders from our different location.

End key:-

It is used to move the cursor to the end of the word area.

Home key:-

It is used to move the cursor to the beginning of the word area which could be; the line, screen or document depending on the software beginning used.

Page up:-

Page up used to display the previous stage of the document, begging current view on the screen.

Page down:-

It is used to view next page of the document, begging current view on the screen.

Esc (Escape) key:-

It is usually used to ignore the current command.

Print screen:-

It is used to print what begging current in display on the screen.

  • Touch screen:-

A touch screen is a visual display that acts as an input device, by responding to the touch of a user’s fingers, hand or an input device such as a stylus.

  • Touch Pad:-

A touch pad is an input device found on the majority of portable also available with some external keyboards, that allow us to move the mouse cursor without the need of an external mouse.

A touch pad is operated by using our finger and dragging it across a flat surface, as we move our finger on the surface, the mouse cursor will move in that same direction, and like most computer mine.

  • Scanner:-

A scanner is an input device used to scan text and image into the computer. It is used when some information is available on a paper and it is to be transferred to the hard disk of the computer for further manipulation. Scanner captures images from the source which are then converted into digital form that can be stored on the hard disk.

  • Projector:-

A projector is an optical device that projects an image (or moving images) onto a surface, commonly a projection screen. Most projectors create an image by shining a light through a small transparent lens, but some newer types of projectors can project the image directly, by using lasers. A virtual retinal display, or retinal projector, is a projector that projects an image directly on the retina instead of using an external projection screen.

The most common type of projector used today is called a video projector. Video projectors are digital replacements for earlier types of projectors such as slide projectors and overhead projectors. These earlier types of projectors were mostly replaced with digital video projectors throughout the 1990’s and early 2000’s (decade), but old analog projectors are still used at some places. The newest types of projectors are handheld projectors that use lasers or LED’s to project images. Their projections are hard to see if there is too much ambient light.

  • Other Input Device:-

Joystick, Light Pen, Microphone, OCR (Optical Character Reader), BCR (Bar Code Reader), OMR (Optical Mark Reader), Web Cameras.
